Perspecta has an immediate need in our US Public Sector group for a Quality Assurance Test Engineer in Boise, ID, Clarksville, VA, El Paso, TX or Montgomery, AL.

Position Overview:

The QA/Tester position will handle a variety of responsibilities including testing of deployed application software in accordance with approved test plans, procedures, and scripts and tracking/reporting the results; test process automation and/or enhancement. Troubleshooting support and issue escalation are also required. The tester will work closely with the release managers, application development team, application deployment team, and other stakeholders throughout the testing process. Must be available for flexible shift schedule.


Education and Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of testing experience in a medium to large sized program

BS or BA degree preferred

Must be a US Citizen or a Green Card Holder who has lived in the US 3 out of the past 5 years

Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance

The candidate needs to have strong proficiency in the following:

- Test environment configuration validation

- Operating environment configuration as needed to complete assigned testing

- Test script execution and documentation of test results

- Testing of IT products, operating systems, software, hardware, systems and networks

- Participation in troubleshooting and triaging of issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution

- Test report creation

- Use of existing tools and techniques to execute test cases and skills to build/script new tools for performing the testing/validation function

- Writing or assisting in the development of test plans and test procedures

- Strong communication and documentation skills

- Application deployment support and performance of testing during the off-hours maintenance windows

- Windows 2008/2012

- Linux RedHat

- ITIL foundations knowledge

- Service Oriented Architecture

- SDLC process knowledge

- Automated Test Tools
